STEEL PV

STEEL PV – Sustainable Steels for Direct Deposition of Photovoltaic Solar Cells

Programme: Research Fund for Coal and Steel (RFCS, nº RFSR-CT-2014-00014)

Objetive: Application of photovoltaic cells on more rugged steels, preparing them by means of a low cost coating, which allows compatibility with photovoltaic cells. In this way, the cost of stainless steel for solar application will be reduced and greater thicknesses may be used by opening a new application market. Likewise, the project contemplates the use of carbon steels (bare and galvanized) as a replacement for stainless steel that allows another way to reduce steel / photovoltaic products and make them commercially more attractive.

Consortium: 2 companies and 4 research organizations, led by the ITMA Foundation.

Duraction:  July 2014 – December 2017
